The Mercedes-Benz GL-Class debuts in the U.S. as the GL450, powered by a 335-horsepower 4.6-liter V8 with a 7-speed automatic transmission and 4MATIC full-time 4-wheel drive. Four-wheel independent suspension, speed-sensitive power steering and 265/60R18 all-season tires are standard and height-adjustable Airmatic springs with ADS adaptive damping are available as an option. Other standard equipment includes real burl walnut wood trim, power front seats, a glass sunroof with a fixed glass panel over the third-row seats and two third-row seats that can be stowed electrically to provide a flat cargo floor. The optional Off-Road Pro package includes a two-speed transfer case, locks for the center and rear differentials and modified air suspension that can increase ground clearance to 12 inches.
